    Mixing & Grinding Operator

     

    Position Title: Mixing & Grinding Operator | 2nd Shift

    Division Overview – ITW Specialty Films

     

    ITW Specialty Films produces high-performance coated and metallized films for industries including Financial Cards, Secure ID, Medical Packaging, and Holographics. With eight facilities across North America and Europe, we combine deep technical expertise with agile manufacturing to meet complex customer needs.

    Responsibilities

    + Set up and operate mixers and mills (ball, horizontal, Kady) according to batch tickets.

    + Accurately select, weigh, and blend raw materials.

    + Operate and maintain vat and drum washers.

    + Monitor grind variables: flow rate, particle size, viscosity, and temperature.

    + Conduct physical testing (viscosity, solids, grind, non-volatile matter).

    + Perform basic color matching and report quality variances.

    + Enter data and process batch tickets using computer systems.

    + Clean and maintain equipment; perform preventive maintenance.

    + Operate forklifts for material handling.

    + Complete documentation: batch tickets, QC records, inventory logs.

    + Troubleshoot and operate automated PLC-based equipment.

    + Lift and carry up to 55 lbs; push/pull up to 100 lbs with assistance.

    Qualifications

    + High school diploma or GED required.

    + Preferred: experience in machine operation or chemical/ink batch-making.

    + Forklift certification is a plus.

    + Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management.

    + Ability to read and follow instructions, formulas, and weights.

    + Physical capability for standing, walking, lifting, and bending.

    Physical & Workplace Requirements

    + Frequent standing, walking, twisting, and reaching.

    + Occasional climbing and bending.

    + Adequate visual acuity for color matching and quality checks.

    + Dependable and flexible for overtime as needed.

    Compensation Information:

    Pay Range: $20.00–$21.00/hour + shift premium
