    DoD SkillBridge Program Description:

    As one of the largest global security companies in the world, Northrop Grumman is proud to help our nation’s military personnel navigate their next chapter into civilian careers. Approximately 20% of Northrop Grumman’s 100,000 employees self-identify as veterans, and more than 2,000 are reservists.

     

    The Northrop Grumman DoD SkillBridge Program is an approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. The program is an opportunity for service members preparing for civilian careers to gain valuable civilian work experience during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. The DoD SkillBridge Program is open to all ranks and experience levels. DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Northrop Grumman, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members **.**

    Responsibilities for DoD SkillBridge Program participation are:

    Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop Grumman – DoD SkillBridge Program (DoD SkillBridge) utilizing the DoDI guidance for SkillBridge. Through this program, the service-member will work on site with their host company, gaining experience in an entry to mid-level career path. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.

     

    **Goals** _– Provide separating service-members with job skills training in a professional setting during the final phase of their military service. This program is specifically designed to offer hands-on experience that result in the potential to convert to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Participants will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC._

    **Objectives** _- Service Members who complete the DoD SkillBridge program will be highly trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission “Defining Possible” on Day 1. This program provides comprehensive hands-on experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities._

    **Outcome** _– Offer service-members preparing for civilian careers a rewarding opportunity to join the Northrop Grumman team._

    DoD SkillBridge Eligibility:

    + Has served at least 180 days on active duty

    + Is within 12 months of separation or retirement

    + Will receive an honorable discharge

    + Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS

    + Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months

    + Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.

    Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Logistics Engineer with the ability to obtain a security clearance to work with our Specialty Engineering Team out of Woodland Hills, CA. Our success is grounded in our ability to embrace change, move quickly and continuously drive innovation. The successful candidate will be collaborative, open, transparent, and team-oriented with a focus on team empowerment & shared responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning, and a culture of automation. This is an exciting, challenging and specialized role for a talented, energized and innovative individual who wants to pursue growth in Integrated Logistics and Product Support Engineering.

    What You’ll get to Do:

    + Support logistics engineering activities and assist as a technical resource from a program’s concept and proposal phases through development, test, production, and post-production support phases.

    + Support logistics design influence efforts and activities necessary to meet system performance requirements.

    + Analyze and interpret technical data (e.g., drawings, manuals, specifications, etc.) to develop technical and logistics data

    + Create/update relevant reports such as task analysis, maintenance plans, or provisioning requirements reports.

    + Perform/develop/update Level of Repair Analysis (LORA).

    + Develop maintenance concepts to ensure the most affordable and effective mission readiness solution.

    + Support activities that sustain the operation and maintenance of systems to ensure mission readiness.

    + Be an engaged and versatile team member of the Integrated Logistics Support team seeking to continuously improve upon existing practices.

    + Utilize engineering background and analytical skills and knowledge of a wide array of industry tools used to conduct Logistics analysis and provide status to the Integrated Product Team (IPT) on a regular basis.

     

    This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below

     

    This requisition may be filled at either a Principal Level or a Sr. Principal Level.

    Basic Qualifications for Principal Logistics Systems Engineer (Level 3):

    + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years with Masters. An additional 4 years of experience can be considered in lieu of degree.

    + Experience in logistics or life cycle support environments

    + Experience in developing/generating various types of logistics supportability analysis

    + Knowledge of Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) and Life Cycle Cost Analysis modeling.

    + PC mastery with Microsoft Windows Office Products, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.

    + Demonstrated excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation skills and ability to interface directly with internal program office and external customer.

    + U.S. citizenship

    + The ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance within a timeframe acceptable to management

    + Ability to work full-time onsite at the Woodland Hills, CA facility

     

    Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Logistics Systems Engineer (Level 4):

     

    + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with 8 years of engineering experience; 6 years with Masters; 4 years with PhD. An additional 4 years of experience can be considered in lieu of degree.

    + Experience in logistics or life cycle support environments

    + Experience in developing/generating various types of logistics supportability analysis

    + Knowledge of Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) and Life Cycle Cost Analysis modeling.

    + PC mastery with Microsoft Windows Office Products, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.

    + Demonstrated excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation skills and ability to interface directly with internal program office and external customer.

    + U.S. citizenship

    + The ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance within a timeframe acceptable to management

    + Ability to work full-time onsite at the Woodland Hills, CA facility

    Preferred Qualifications** **:

    + Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university

    + Experience in military maintenance and sustainment support

    + Engineering design background generating new designs, models, and drawings

    + Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives that drive change in an organization

    + Experience supporting procurement activities to meet demanding build schedules

    + Experience developing LSA products in accordance with MIL-STD-1388, GEIA-STD-0007 or MIL-PRF-49506 in LSA database tools such as EAGLE or SLICwave

    + Experience with Packaging, Handling, Storage and Transportation

    + Previous experience using LSA data to develop either technical data, technical publications, Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETMs), or training products

    + Possess active DoD Security Clearance (investigation completed within last 5 years)

     

    Primary Level Salary Range: $85,600.00 - $128,400.00

     

    Secondary Level Salary Range: $106,800.00 - $160,200.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
