    Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the Domestic DIB, MRTFB Direct Hire Authority. Responsibilities You will perform standard, routine disassembly and assembly operations and make prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories. You will assist higher-grade repairers and/or mechanics in the full-range of disassembly and assembly duties. You will determine whether disassembled parts are reusable, recognizing scratches, burns, cracks, deformation, etc. You will use standard measuring and testing instruments and automated test equipment to test disassembled parts for defects such as warping, incorrect weight, etc., in order to route defective parts to repair or salvage. You will assemble subassemblies of limited complexity (e.g., rotors, stator cases, combustion chambers, and augmentors/afterburners) in accordance with specific procedures and requirements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: Working under close supervision and guidance to perform standard, routine disassembly and assembly operations and make prescribes modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies and accessories; Receiving on the-job and/or formal training perform limited assembly of components and less complex modules such as compressors; Working under close supervision and guidance to perform visual, dimensional and tactile checks of individual parts for foreign object damage, stress fractures, excessive wear, etc.…; Receiving on the-job and/or formal training to determine the condition of all component parts in accordance with technical specifications and recondition or replace parts as necessary; Receiving on the-job and/or formal training to assemble subassemblies of limited complexity (e.g., rotors, stator cases, combustion chambers and augmentors/afterburners) in accordance with specific procedures and requirements; AND Working under close supervision and guidance to perform to assemble major components, assemblies and/or dynamic balance rotor assemblies based on specific methods and procedures for each phase of work. Education Additional Information This position has a WG - 08 Vacancy opening DE-12861028-26-TEG This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position requires rotating shift work. This position requires exposure to high noise levels. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments. Preference applicants will be placed at the highest grade for which they have applied and are determined Best Qualified (BQ). A BQ military spouse possesses knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies comparable to others who meet the competitive referral criteria for the specific position. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain required level(s) of certification and/or training. This position is subject to loan or detail to other shops to meet production needs as necessary. This position may be required to travel as needed.
