BluePearl Pet Hospital** **is hiring an Anesthesia Veterinary Technician** **!

**Pay:** $20.00 - $40.00 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system.

As an Anesthesia Veterinary Technician, you will:

+ Assistin patient procedures using knowledge of anesthesia and analgesia related protocols and procedures, including formulating anesthetic plans tailored to individual patient needs.

+ Monitor anesthesia, trouble shoot anestheticcomplications, andmakeappropriate interventions.

+ Intravenous catheter placement, endotracheal intubation, and anesthetic equipment use and maintenance.

+ Perform physicalexam; accurately countsheart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratoryrateand effort.

+ Understand normal vital parameters andalertsdoctor when abnormal.

+ Set up intravenous fluidsand CRI’s.

+ Continuous expansion of knowledge and skillset: advanced anesthetic skills including epidurals,difficult airway intubation, and critical case management.

+ Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumpsand cantroubleshoot errors.

+ Comfortable with medical math.

+ Ability to take patient through entire procedure from start to finish (pre-op, monitoring, post-op, and recovery)

+ Manage appointments, obtain histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc.

+ Disconnect and connectpatientsfrom intravenous fluids aseptically.

+ Monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload.
