GE Appliances is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to lead the day-to-day operations of our Refrigeration Metrology Lab. In this role, you’ll partner closely with engineers, analysts, and quality teams to deliver high-impact measurement solutions that support production, problem solving, and new product introductions. You’ll become a subject matter expert in 3D scanning and metrology, playing a critical role in ensuring part and assembly quality across the plant.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a blend of hands-on technical work, cross-functional collaboration, and lab leadership within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

How You'll Create Possibilities
+ Manage the 3D scan lab and provide support to Engineers and Analysts.
+ Set and manage lab priority tracker; coordinate with quality, program leaders, and requestors to establish priorities.
+ Develop and implement lab standards for the plant.
+ Meet with requestors to define measurement requirements for complex parts; advise on fixturing and measurement tools.
+ Train Lab Technicians, Engineers, and Analysts on scanning and CMM techniques.
+ Oversee lab operations, including workflow and process management.
+ Maintain measurement equipment, including repairs and upgrades.
+ Manage lab supplies such as paint, scan targets, and probe tips.
+ Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and new part introductions using metrology tools.
+ Analyze measurement data and communicate findings to Engineers.
+ Facilitate fixture repeatability studies.
+ Oversee Polyworks/Dataloop data organization and visual management for the plant.
+ Coordinate gage calibration across the plant as Gage Calibration Coordinator, using Indysoft.
+ Communicate gage status to owners and arrange off-site calibration support when needed.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor's degree **OR** equivalent experience, required
+ 3+ years’ experience with CAD and/or manipulation of 3d CAD data or similar.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ College technical degree preferred
+ Experience with parametric and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) in CAD
+ Proven ability to manage multiple projects and balance priorities in a high-stress environment
+ Strong computer skills with the ability to learn and operate multiple software programs simultaneously
+ Excellent teamwork and self-motivation
+ 3D scanning and metrology experience, including gage design, CMM programming, and Six Sigma data analysis
+ Familiarity with Polyworks Dataloop
+ Knowledge of CREO and Windchill is beneficial
+ Lab management experience is helpful
+ Experience with gage calibration management using Indysoft
Working Environment:
+ This environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, and hearing protection.
+ This role will require frequent walking in a manufacturing plant environment.
+ Hours & Weekends: Working off-shift and weekends may be required
