    NVR, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Software Development Manager for Data & AI Applications to work on site in Reston, VA (Relocation assistance available)

    Summary

    As a   Software Development Manager - Data & AI Applications, you will lead the development of data-driven and AI-enabled applications that support critical business capabilities across the organization.

     

    This role is responsible for delivering solutions that leverage data, internal and external data sources, analytics, and AI to support decision making across land acquisition, marketing, and sales. You will also help to establish NVR’s foundational data & AI solution development tools and frameworks to enable other application teams to leverage these capabilities to build their own AI-enabled solutions.

     

    This is a manager-level role in a small, highly collaborative team, and it is intentionally hands-on. You will design architectures, write code, make technical decisions, and mentor engineers while working closely with product management, business stakeholders, and engineering teams.

     

    Key Job Responsibilities

     

    + Lead the design and development of data analytics and AI solutions that support land acquisition, pricing, and market positioning.

    + Develop and evolve enterprise data & AI platforms using Microsoft technologies to support analytics and AI solutions.

    + Define and promote reference architectures, integration patterns, and development guidance for AI-enabled applications.

    + Act as a hands-on technical leader: write code, review designs, and resolve complex technical challenges.

    + Partner with Product Managers and business leaders to identify high-value use cases and translate them into scalable solutions.

    + Collaborate closely with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure strong data foundations, governance, and quality.

    + Guide responsible and practical use of AI, balancing innovation with security, reliability, and maintainability.

    + Mentor engineers and foster a culture of ownership, simplicity, and continuous improvement.

    Job Qualifications

    + 8+ years of professional experience in software application development with a strong background in designing, building, and operating enterprise systems.

    + Experience delivering data-driven applications that incorporate analytics and AI capabilities in a production environment.

    + Experience with emerging cloud, AI, and data platforms; experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Foundry, and Microsoft Fabric preferred.

    + Ability to act as both a technical leader and hands-on contributor.

    + Experience working across teams to establish shared platforms, standards, or engineering practices.

    + Experience working closely with business stakeholders and product managers to align technical solutions with strategic objectives.

    + Comfortable operating in a small team environment where priorities evolve and individuals wear multiple hats.

    + Self-driven, pragmatic, and focused on delivering business value, not just technology.

    + Strong Leadership experience with a proven ability to influence stakeholders, drive initiatives to successful completion and lead a team.
