For our state-of-the art 600+ person Lubbock, TX cheese and whey manufacturing facility, Leprino is seeking a Groundskeeper.
This position pays $17.50 per hour. There is an additional $1 differential for hours worked between 6pm and 6am. Weekly pay.
Summary Description:
The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the growth and appearance of the lawn and grounds and ensuring the grounds equipment is maintained in safe operating condition. The Groundskeeper is responsible for safe removal of dirt and snow from pedestrian walk ways ensuring safety of visitors and team members. This position will partner with the Building Maintenance Technicians to complete maintenance projects, as needed. The Groundskeeper is also responsible for maintaining 5S standards.
All other duties as assigned.
Job Duties (Accountability Categories and Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities):

+ The Groundskeeper is responsible for the safe operation of the associated equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safe work practices. This position is also responsible for maintaining 5S standards, and participating in and implementing continuous improvement.
+ Mow lawn and remove weeds. Perform quality grounds maintenance in sufficient timeframe. Perform cleaning duties as required.
+ Assist Building Maintenance personnel with projects such as plumbing, tiling, fence repairs, maintaining the sprinkler system, and other projects.
+ Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment including lubrication, oil and filter changes.
+ Communicate effectively with co-workers, team leads, and supervisors.
+ Follow companys good manufacturing and safety policies and procedures. Maintain housekeeping in area and maintain 5S standards.
+ Perform work in a safe manner by following safety procedures and policies, critical safety rules, and expected standard conduct.
+ Work in accordance with safe work practices at all times.
+ This position is responsible and accountable to ensure product meets food safety, regulatory, and quality requirements by following the Food Safety Plan, Quality Plan, and company policies.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
+ Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend basic English language
+ Ability to evaluate and identify mechanical conditions and make adjustments or corrective action as necessary
+ Ability to access elevated work areas such as climbing ladders/stairs
+ Basic math skills to be able to perform mathematical functions
+ Ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures
+ Ability to maintain clean work area according to good manufacturing processes
+ Good communication skills to communicate with co-workers and oncoming/outgoing shifts
+ Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and comply with all applicable safety practices
+ Prior experience as a Groundskeeper with industrial or commercial grounds background; prior experience operating heavy duty forklifts, riding mower, push mower, tractor mower; experience in performing maintenance of tractor and mowing equipment; prior experience with motorized lawn and grounds equipment; understanding of chemicals and safe mixing, and demonstrated ability to work effectively with others.
+ Must have a valid and current Texas driver license.
+ Must be able to safely operate and maintain mowing equipment including: routine inspection, oil changes, and greasing. The Groundskeeper will support the Building Maintenance Technicians with fence repairs, tile and plumbing repairs, maintaining the sprinkler system, painting, storeroom crating, 5S, and other projects as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
+ Two years of experience as an industrial Groundskeeper; moderate knowledge of small and medium engine repair and maintenance; dairy or food manufacturing experience; computer
+ Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
+ proficiency in email, internet, Microsoft Office software, and computerized maintenance management systems (e.g. SAP, Maximo).
