    Purpose of the RoleThe Project Accountant supports effective business planning, financial reporting, and SAP system management to ensure compliance, transparency, and donor accountability. The role safeguards financial integrity across grants and projects by maintaining accurate records, preparing timely reports, and supporting program staff in budget implementation.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Assist in annual grant budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and monitoring project expenditures.

    + Maintain accurate financial transactions in SAP, including partner liquidations, payments, and reconciliations.

    + Prepare donor financial reports, cost recovery schedules, and ensure compliance with policies and donor regulations.

    + Review and analyze financial data to identify irregularities and recommend corrective actions.

    + Manage SAP information systems: encode grant data, update income, perform data cleansing, and ensure audit readiness.

    + Uphold safeguarding policies in all financial processes.

    Success Indicators

    + Accurate and timely budgets, reports, and reconciliations.

    + Compliance with donor and regulatory requirements.

    + SAP financial data maintained with integrity and audit readiness.

    + Effective collaboration with program staff and supervisors to achieve KPIs.

    Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience

    + University degree in Accounting/Finance

    + 3+ years of experiencein a similar financial management role

    + Solid understanding ofproject management principles

    + Strong expertise inaccounting and grant funds management regulations & procedures

    + Proven knowledge ofinternal financial controls and compliance procedures

    + Experienced ingrant reporting requirementswith working knowledge ofPlan International’s grant financial systems and procedures
