    Duties:

    The Grand Island Central School District is offering a school psychologist intern position for the 2026-2027 school year. The intern will work under a licensed, tenured school psychologist and the Assistant Superintendent of Pupil Services.

    This internship opportunity will include:

    • Work in various school settings within the district with a diverse set of students and faculty

    • Assess students with cognitive, achievement, social-emotional, and adaptive measures in order to initially evaluate, or reevaluate, eligibility for educational services

    • Write and present reports containing evaluative information as well as recommendations for supports at CSE meetings

    • Work with individuals and groups for counseling both IEP directed and need-based

    • Participate in 504/IEP meetings

    • Implement social-skills/social-emotional programming within 12:1+1 classrooms

    • Perform in-class observations and construct/present Functional Behavioral Analyses as well as construct/carry-out Behavior Intervention Plans

    • Engage in consultation/collaboration with other mental health staff and various other faculty/staff members

    • Assist in the creation and maintenance of IEP and 504 plans

    • Travel to various sites to administer Psychoeducational Assessment to various ages and abilities (including: BOCES, BOCES Niagara Academy, Summit, CHC, Gateway, etc.)

    • Engage in regular supervisory practices with site supervisor and graduate program advisor

    • Engage in communication with parents regarding student progress, testing, and mental health

    • Provide information and connection to outside resources and agencies

    Minimum Qualifications:

    School practicum completion is required
