Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30 pm
Occasional travel will be required to Children's North Satellite location at 2599 Wexford Bayne Road, Sewickley, PA. Both locations offer free on-site parking!

The Outpatient Nurse Coordinator is a Registered Nurse is a member of the care delivery team that is responsible for the care of the patient in a global view, accountable for multiple aspects of the patient care package even when patient contact is minimized. The Outpatient Nurse Coordinator uses independent judgment and continued communication with the patient, family, physician and community resources to assist the patient in attaining a measure of outpatient health. Responsibilities:
+ Actively engages in shared governance, quality improvement, change initiatives, and regulatory readiness.
+ Provides leadership, supervision, mentorship, and serves as a key resource for staff, students, and the care team.
+ Delivers holistic, coordinated, patient‑centered care, including assessment, triage, education, follow‑up, and care‑plan development.
+ Communicates effectively, advocates for patients, and ensures accurate, comprehensive documentation.
+ Builds positive, culturally sensitive relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary partners.
+ Applies strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and problem‑solving skills in complex environments.
+ Maintains professionalism through safe work practices, healthy balance, and accountability for workplace safety.
+ Uses evidence‑based practice to guide improvements and enhance patient satisfaction.
+ Supports learning, fosters open dialogue, and contributes to a culture of continuous growth.
+ Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and/or interact appropriately to the ages of the patients served by his/her assigned unit as specified below.
+ Must also demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide the care needs as described in the department policy and procedures.
+ Minimum 3 years nursing experience.
+ BSN preferred.
+ Previous Pediatric experience preferred.
+ Previous leadership experience preferred.
+ Previous Cardiology experience preferredLicensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
+ Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in practicing state.
+ UPMC approved national certification preferred.
+ CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
+ Registered Nurse (RN)
+ Act 33 / 34 / 73 with renewal
*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
