    CT Technologist - Night Shift

     

    Schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday | 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

     

    Sign-On Bonus: Qualified applicants are eligible for a $20,000 sign-on bonus with a two-year work commitment.

    Night Program Guidelines

    + Participants with 6 months or more experience must commit to working all full-time equivalent (FTE) budgeted shifts during night hours (e.g., between 7:00 PM and 7:00 AM).

    + Example: A 0.9 FTE employee would work 36 hours of night shift each week.

    + Eligible participants will receive an additional $2 per hour night program differential, on top of the hospital's current off-shift differential, for night hours worked as part of the program.

    + Any additional day shifts (e.g., meetings, competencies) will be paid without the night program differential.

    + Employees who work rotating night shifts but are not enrolled in the night program will not receive the differential.

    Job Summary

    Performs imaging procedures at a technical level without requiring constant supervision. Competently executes a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform computed tomography procedures utilizing established scan protocols, including contrast administration, without requiring constant supervision.

    + Perform a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment to adjust protocols and apply prescribed ionizing radiation appropriately for diagnostic CT purposes.

    + Utilize complex imaging equipment for acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation of image data; complete procedures according to protocol.

    + Demonstrate proper technique in venipuncture and proper use of power injector according to departmental/manufacturer protocols.

    + Administer PO, rectal, and IV contrast per physician orders and department policy; assess patients for potential risk factors prior to contrast administration.

    + Demonstrate strong ability to interact with patients and co-workers while displaying caring, listening, dignity, and respect; work as a team member to expedite patient care efficiently.

    + Communicate instructions clearly to patients and explain procedures to alleviate fears and gain cooperation.

    + Identify patients properly using two identifiers and utilize universal protocol; review patient history and physician orders, applying departmental protocols for optimal results; document patient history in electronic records as required.

    + Ensure all exams are properly coded and tracked through the RIS system; network exams to ISITE for archiving and interpretation; enter all charges accurately for performed exams.

    Education & Experience

    + Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT program.

    + ARRT registry-eligible technologists must obtain ARRT certification within 6 months of hire date.

    + CT registry must be obtained within 18 months of the date the primary registry was acquired or date of hire if the primary registry is already obtained.

    + CNMT graduates must obtain CNMT certification within 6 months of hire date.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances

    + ARRT certification as a Radiologic Technologist or certification through a CNMT program is required.

    + ARRT registry-eligible technologists must obtain ARRT certification within 6 months of hire date.

    + CT registry must be acquired within 18 months of the date the primary registry was obtained or date of hire if already certified.

    + CNMT graduates must obtain CNMT certification within 6 months of hire date.

    + All CT Technologists working in New York facilities performing contrast media injection must:

    + Be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).

    + Be licensed through the New York State Department of Health.

    + CPR or BLS certification required within 30 days of hire, based on AHA standards (including both didactic and skills demonstration components).

    + ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) required.

    + ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC)

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

    + Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

    + Act 33 with renewal

    + Act 34 with renewal

    + Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
