    Specialist I - Property Surplus

    Position Description:

    Performs work to assist in the organization and implementation of projects and programs. Responsibilities include activities which require knowledge of departmental procedures. Employee performance is based upon a review of completed work and overall results obtained.

    Major/Essential Functions:

    + Maintain warehouse safety, cleanliness, and organization in accordance with ODPA/OPSDIV leadership, Risk Management, and EHS standards, including onsite pick-ups and vehicles.

    + Follow and maintain all required safety protocols and certifications (e.g., forklift certification, driver approval, Texas State vehicle and equipment operation).

    + Properly palletize, document, and transfer surplus technology within required timeframes; ensure secure removal, tracking, and disposal of hard drives per established protocols.

    + Provide professional customer service and conduct when interacting with customers, stakeholders, and ODPA/OPSDIV staff in office and field environments.

    + Manage workload effectively and meet quality, efficiency, and performance standards for surplus pick-ups, warehousing/inventory, auctioning, palletizing, warehouse sales, relocations, and moving services.

    + Use approved communication tools (email, Skype, RMS, OneNote, text, etc.) and acknowledge required documentation and departmental meetings.

    + Promptly report issues, concerns, or questions impacting Surplus Warehouse operations to supervisors or ODPA/OPSDIV leadership.

    + Bachelor's degree in job related field plus three years experience related to the assigned area; OR a combination of education and/or related experience to equal seven years.

    Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan.
