$1,000 Sign-on Bonus
The Day and Community Integration Specialist provides one-to-one support to an adult Living with: Asperger’s Syndrome, Acquired Brain Injury and Visual Impairments; both in his home and throughout the community. This role focuses on supporting meaningful daily routines, building independence, and increasing participation in community life.
The Day and Community Integration Specialist works alongside the individual to develop and strengthen daily living, community, and pre-vocational skills. Supports may include job coaching and vocational skill development, assistance with maintaining consistent routines, and participation in recreational, volunteer, and social activities. Examples include learning to use community resources such as the library, making purchases at local stores, participating in fitness activities like swimming or using a YMCA gym, and attending preferred social or community events.

Monday - Friday 8:00am -3:00/3:30pm
Responsibilities
+ Provide individualized, **_one-to-one_** support within the home and community environments.
+ Teach and reinforce daily living and functional skills, including safety awareness, travel training, money management, shopping, budgeting, and household routines.
+ Support community engagement and integration, including use of community resources such as libraries, fitness centers, volunteer sites, recreational activities, and social events.
+ Support prevocational skill development, job readiness activities, and exploration of vocational or volunteer opportunities.
+ Implement skill building strategies and behavior support approaches as outlined by the interdisciplinary team.
+ Promote consistency, predictability, and positive routines throughout the day.
+ Encourage independence while providing appropriate structure, prompting, and support.
+ Build positive, respectful relationships with the individual, family members, caregivers, and other stakeholders.
+ Collaborate with supervisors, clinicians, and program staff to support individualized goals and outcomes.
+ Provide transportation to and from scheduled activities using a personal vehicle, as required.
+ Maintain accurate documentation related to services, progress, and activities.
+ Attend required trainings, supervisions, and staff meetings.
+ Ensure all supports are provided in a manner that upholds dignity, respect, and individual rights in accordance with Advocates’ Human Rights Policy.
+ Perform all duties in accordance with agency policies, procedures, and the principles of the Advocates Way.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in psychology, special education, human services, or a related field required.
+ Minimum of two years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and/or acquired brain injury.
+ Experience with Autism and brain injury supports strongly preferred.
+ Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles preferred.
+ Experience implementing individualized skill‑building or behavior support plans preferred.
+ Strong ability to work independently with reliability, follow‑through, and sound judgment.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to build rapport and maintain professional, therapeutic relationships.
+ Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
+ Sensitivity to and respect for the needs of individuals served.
+ Ability to function effectively as part of a collaborative team.
+ Valid driver’s license required.
+ Access to an insured, reliable vehicle and willingness to transport individuals as needed.
+ Ability to perform all essential job functions satisfactorily.
