Job Description

Day to Day

• Own data pipeline development on GCP using BigQuery, Dataform, Dataflow, and Cloud Composer; design and implement performant, cost aware patterns for batch and near real time workloads.

• Orchestrate source to warehouse ingestion (e.g., Fivetran) and transformations in dbt to move data “from point A to point B” with robust testing, documentation, and version control.

• Model warehouse tables (staging, marts, dimensional models) that support analytics and manufacturing operations, drive standards for naming, partitioning, clustering, and data quality.

• Partner cross functionally with application teams, manufacturing operations, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.

• Contribute to platform governance: CI/CD for data assets, secrets management, cost monitoring, access controls, and compliance aligned with enterprise standards.

Skills and Requirements

• 7+ years of professional Data Engineering experience (Senior/Staff level).

• Proven delivery on GCP: BigQuery, Dataform, Dataflow, Cloud Composer (or equivalent orchestration like Airflow).

• Hands on with dbt (testing, documentation, packages) and experience operationalizing connector based ingestion (e.g., Fivetran).

• Strong SQL engineering and performance tuning in columnar warehouses; familiarity with query cost optimization.

• Experience migrating from on prem systems to cloud data warehouses, including schema rationalization and data quality strategies.

• Solid software engineering foundations: version control (git), code review, CI/CD for data, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar preferred).

• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder alignment and knowledge sharing.
