GENERAL FUNCTION: Assists with the daily operations of the Collect on Delivery (COD) Team. Performs duties for assigned area(s) by following documented procedures. Cross trains on all COD job functions (e.g., Work Receipt, Batch Prep, Extractions, Insertion, Matching, Expert Matching, and other functions). Communicates and shares all issues with COD Operations Team Lead and/or manager. Provides support for all functions of transactional and processing systems. Support of systems may vary; ensures that all aspects of front-end actions are completed.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank’s risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Check in and log incoming COD packages by courier arrival time and number of packages.

+ Document discrepancies in number of packs.

+ Open COD packages and remove contents for batch prep.

+ Batch work by package and prepare in trays.

+ Operation of extraction and capture machinery.

+ Rejected item MICR line and document repair.

+ Review transactions for quality control.

+ Functionality and general system troubleshooting.

+ Follow documented procedures to determine relationship of check images to COD client information for shipper, center, driver, and consignee.

+ Match checks to COD client file information based on established business rules.

+ Perform matching of check images to COD client information for shipper, center, driver, and consignee for prior day unmatched records.

+ Execute necessary monetary adjustments to internal COD accounts and submits for approval.

+ Review check images to determine secured funds status based on established business rules.

+ Approve monetary adjustments to internal COD accounts.

+ Escalate issues with resolving COD transactions to the COD Operations Team Lead or Manager to ensure timely resolution or reassignment.

+ Investigate customer inquiries/concerns and independently research and resolve problems.

+ Set up and operate machinery which is designed to extract items from envelopes at a high speed.

+ Extract the items and prepare the items for processing.

+ Meet and maintain production and quality standards as set by the assigned department.

+ Review, sort, and audit materials as needed.

+ Complete all assigned paperwork and report on machines productivity.

+ Perform routine maintenance of machinery.

+ Perform quality checks and basic troubleshooting of machinery.

+ Perform general housekeeping on and around machine.

+ Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

+ Comply with banking regulations as they relate to customer confidentiality.

+ Assist with training new employees, as needed.

+ Coordinate with other areas to ensure deadlines are met.

+ Perform service calls, interact with service technicians.

+ Additional duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

+ High school diploma or equivalent.

+ Two years of banking/production experience preferred.

+ Ability to work overtime as required.

+ Strong written/verbal communication skills.

+ Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.

+ Self-motivated.

+ Must demonstrate strong analytical and logical reasoning skills for problem solving.

+ Work requires attention to detail in establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.

+ Knowledge of systems within Operations preferred.

+ Strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask.

+ Strong customer service and employee interaction skills.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

+ Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature.

+ Extended viewing of CRT screen.

+ Some operational areas require tolerance to noise produced by processing machinery.

+ Must be able to lift 30lb.
