    Job Description

    Insight Global is looking for a System Administrator to work on site in Austin, TX and support the strategy and introduction of products based on unique and highly differentiated capabilities of a foundry for semiconductor microsystems and defense electronics companies. Their mission is to advance the state-of-the-art in critical semiconductor domains such as advanced packaging, and in the process to help restore U.S. leadership in semiconductor manufacturing. They are developing cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing technology that will define future roadmaps of semiconductor devices including logic, memory, 3D packaged devices, including thermal management, etc.

    Responsibilities

    Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual server hardware, including initial rack/stack, cabling coordination, and firmware updates

     

    Deploy, configure, and administer Linux and Windows server environments in both on-premises and virtualized infrastructures

     

    Integrate systems with Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions and manage authentication/authorization services (Active Director, LDAP, etc.)

     

    Provide input and hands-on support for system architecture decisions, including virtualization platforms, storage, networking, and scalability considerations

     

    Support the design and build of a new Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment, including provisioning, performance tuning, and user access management

     

    Develop, maintain, and execute Ansible playbooks to automate system configuration, patching, and deployment workflows

     

    Implement and manage software installations and upgrades across server and desktop environments

     

    Collaborate with security, engineering, and operations teams to support infrastructure requirements and project timelines

     

    Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, OS, virtualization, and application-level issues across multiple environments

     

    Maintain system documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures

     

    Participate in scheduled maintenance windows and provide operational support for occasional international meetings, with availability between 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM (flexible schedule)

    Skills and Requirements

    3+ years of experience as a System Administrator in Linux and Windows environments

    Experience with at least two server virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, Proxmox)

     

    Experience with desktop virtualization platforms (e.g., Citrix, Exceed TurboX, Microsoft VDI)

     

    Strong Linux and Windows Server administration skills

    Experience managing Active Directory, Group Policy, and authentication services

    Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Exposure to Oracle Database Administration

     

    Hands-on experience with firewall and VPN technologies (e.g. OPNsense or similar platforms)

     

    Experience with Proxmox virtualization platforms

     

    Experience designing, configuring, and supporting Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments

     

    Proficiency with Ansible Automation Platform or configuration management and infrastructure automation

     

    Experience deploying and managing distributed storage solutions such as CEPH clusters
