_UW Libraries_** **has an outstanding opportunity open for an Interim OSC Computer Support Analyst.
Duties
Systems/Application Development and Maintenance
+ Works closely with the Libraries Information Technology & Digital Strategies Department to ensure consistent user experience in hardware/software selection and deployment.
+ Responsible for custom imaging of OSC Windows-based desktop computers and associated monitors and mobile laptop cart with OSC selected software.
+ Responsible for managing and troubleshooting laptop hookup monitors in the OSC space.
+ As needed, responsible for managing mobile laptop cart distribution, collection, and troubleshooting during scheduled OSC workshops.
Software Consulting
+ Works collaboratively to provide troubleshooting on open scholarship tools (Reclaim Hosting, Manifold, etc.) and triage troubleshooting questions on digital scholarship tools for Seattle campus users. Consult with vendors for support as needed.
+ Creates and manages user accounts and projects in compliance with UW Libraries terms of service for open scholarship tools and infrastructure such as Manifold, Reclaim Hosting, and Pressbooks for Seattle campus users.
User Support
+ Conduct structured training programs and prepare training materials for OSC-supported digital/open scholarship tools; consult on how technology in the OSC may meet classroom needs for Seattle campus users.
+ Maintains and responds to queries on OSC listservs.Manage and maintains the OSC’s virtual presence including the public facing Plone website, the OSC’s Trumba calendar, and the Staffweb Plone-based intranet space for the OSC.
+ Works regular shifts within the OSC and recording studio space, answering and triaging questions that arise and assesses space and technology usage.
+ Manages daily operations of Libraries Recording Studio. Manages bookings and provides orientations on using the space.
+ Trains OSC and recording studio student employees and staff on OSC technology policies and procedures.
Operating Systems Support
+ Apply software patches and ensure software is running current versions.
+ Monitor and enhance the operating environment to ensure optimal performance.
+ Develops and maintains workflows for updating equipment, tracking mobile equipment, and ensures that both student and University security and privacy needs are met.
Hardware Support
+ Diagnose and resolve hardware problems and refer complex problems to hardware maintenance, software support or vendor support.
+ Manages and facilitates usage of OSC and recording studio audio/visual equipment including helping with setup for audio/visual equipment for events, developing and maintaining documentation on running OSC and recording studio audio/visual equipment, and troubleshooting equipment with vendors as needed.
Future Planning
+ May assist and advise regarding OSC and recording studio facility requirements and make recommendations as requested; manages software requests for the space.
+ Keeps abreast of technology trends that impact higher education and open scholarship. Makes recommendations and advises on future technology directions for the OSC.
+ May lead or co-lead pilots of new OSC services using new technologies, in accordance with the OSC's experimentation, flexibility, and technology values.
Other Duties
+ Plays an active role in participating in Libraries and unit activities and meetings and communicates effectively with coworkers and supervisors. Is familiar with and understands the Libraries Personal Communication Responsibility Guidelines.
+ Assumes other responsibilities as assigned and performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in programming and/or computer support services of a technical nature
OR
One year of experience as Computer Support Analyst I.
_Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration._
Compensation, Benefits and Position Details
Pay Range Minimum:
$70,044.00 annual
Pay Range Maximum:
$94,212.00 annual
