Summary You will serve as a Postal Operations Specialist (Office Mail Manager) in the NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Jacksonville of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER JACKSONVILLE. Responsibilities You will serve as Official Mail Manager (OMM), responsible for issuing and enforcing mail policies to commands. You will work with various commands to analyze and determine requirements and establish a mail management program and attendant procedures. You will ensure that postal regulations and laws are complied with and that the appropriate levels of control and security are maintained. You will evaluate mail practices throughout the complex and develops new or modified policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for mail operations. You will serve as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for Postal contracts assigned to local operations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector using knowledge of the United States Postal Service (USPS), directives, regulations, laws, and practices to administer and/or coordinate mail management programs. Specialized experience should include most or all of the following: 1) Performing a variety of postal duties including acceptance, screening, sorting, and distributing incoming mail (USPS, FEDEX, UPS, DHL and other premium carriers); 2) Assisting in analyzing and/or evaluating mail practices and determining requirements and level of efficiency of a mail management program; 3) Assisting in the training/inspecting other employees on mail center functions including official and personal mail programs; 4) Analyzing and tracking workload (volume/ type of mail), current mail handling procedures, and cost of operations; 5) Identifying and resolving issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature; 6) Assisting in developing new or modified policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for mail operations.
