Heavy Equipment Operator

Heavy Equipment Operator
Responsible for operating heavy equipment used for moving or grading earth, applying concrete, asphalt and other materials.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Operate equipment under general supervision.
+ Could operate Graders, roller booms, dozers, scrapers, blades, loaders etc.
+ Move levers, depress foot pedals and turn dials to operator power machinery, such as power shovels, stripping shovels, scraper loaders and backhoes
+ Inspect equipment for safety issues daily and determine if any parts are malfunctioning.
+ Cleans, maintains, and lubricates equipment.
+ Understand the use of equipment in various jobs
+ Complete job tickets, service quality summaries, and all other necessary paperwork.
+ Lift, position and place machinery, equipment or other large objects at construction sites and industrial facilities.
+ Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
+ Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
+ Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machines.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required for this Position:
**Education** – no minimum education requirements.
**Certification / License:** State issued Driver’s License and TWIC
**Experience** – 3-5 years of operating equipment in an Industrial setting.
