This position is responsible for supervising and assisting in training personnel. Responsibilities include directing and allocating work to personnel and assisting in implementing programs to improve performance and efficiency. This position is not responsible for providing patient care.

Responsibilities
+ Serves as a liaison on the patient care unit to ensure that meal service, order and delivery times are met.
+ Responds to meal service related calls and pages from patients and health unit coordinators.
+ Coordinates with other Nutrition Care staff to ensure that patients with special needs are seen by a Nutrition Care Technician or Clinical Nutritionist.
+ Ensures that menu items, stock items and trays are delivered and picked up from the units in a timely fashion.
+ Resolves problems, provides support and expedites service to hospital departments.
+ Monitors the staff safety and quality assurance functions.
+ Checks and inspects unit galleys for cleanliness.
+ Ensures that work standards are being adhered to by inspecting assigned work areas and providing inspection reports for review by the supervisor.
+ Participates on hospital committees and in meetings.
+ May assist manager and supervisors with tray passer audits.
+ May assist the supervisor directly or work with management to provide leadership during any absenteeism.

+ Demonstrated potential ability to perform the essential functions as outlined above.
+ Ability to provide care to the population served.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development.
+ Ability to assess data regarding the patient's status and provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures manual.
+ Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.
+ Ability to proactively provide guidance to peers.
+ Ability to orchestrate multiple tasks simultaneously.
Qualifications
Qualifications** **Required
+ Two years of food service, customer service experience, or equivalency.
Licenses Required
+ **One of the following**
+ Current Utah Food Handler Permit.
+ Current Food Protection Manager certification, accredited by ANSI.

+ Previous supervisory experience.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
_Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation._
+ This position involves intermediate working conditions in a healthcare setting that may exert up to 50 pounds and may consistently require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving patients or objects, such as medical equipment, while providing patient care. This position may be standing and walking for sustained periods of time.
