Description
SAIC is seeking a highly skilled **Network Engineer** to support a mission-critical Department of the Air Force ** C3BM program** , ensuring the operational readiness of advanced networking systems across ground nodes, aerial nodes, and cloud environments. This role focuses on **maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting network infrastructure,** ensuring secure and seamless connectivity to support mission-critical operations.
The position is based in the **DC Metro Area,** with initial work conducted in contractor-provided facilities. The Senior Network Engineer will collaborate closely with Field Service Representatives (FSRs), government stakeholders, and mission partners to manage and maintain secure network connections and devices. **This role is contingent upon contract award expected in the first quarter of this year.**
Key Responsibilities
+ Network Design & Maintenance: Deploy, maintain, and configure routers, switches, and networking equipment as defined by Government requirements.
+ Ground Node Support: Provide remote and on-site support for networking infrastructure at PAIN Point Ground Nodes, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and replacement of equipment as necessary.
+ Operational Continuity: Monitor and maintain operational status for deployed systems, ensuring all network assets meet performance, security, and reliability benchmarks.
+ Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve airborne and ground networking anomalies, coordinating with the ABMS Enterprise Service Desk and technical teams to maintain network integrity.
+ Documentation & Reporting: Track and document all networking issues through the Government-approved system of record, generating logs, metrics, and trend analysis for leadership. Provide quarterly updates via PowerPoint presentations.
+ Kubernetes Environments Support: Assist in configuring Kubernetes-based network environments, including management and deployment of zarf packages in secure and air-gapped systems.
Qualifications
**Education:** Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in IT, Engineering, or a related field.
**Experience: ** 14-17 years of experience in network engineering and operations. Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining enterprise networks, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and supporting secure government systems.
**Clearance: ** Active SECRET clearance, eligible for Top Secret/SCI.
Technical Knowledge:
+ Expertise in configuring routers, switches, and ground node networking systems.
+ Familiarity with Government-approved ticketing systems for network issue logging and tracking.
+ Understanding of Air Force information assurance requirements.
Desired Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in a related discipline.
+ Experience working with Kubernetes and deploying zarf packages.
+ Familiarity with ABMS Enterprise Service Desk standard operating procedures.
+ Proven history of generating metrics and operational data for leadership presentations.
+ Active TS/SCI clearance preferred.
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
