The Minnesota Lottery is seeking a dedicated and reliable General Maintenance Worker to perform janitorial and building maintenance duties throughout our facility. This role also includes escorting external vendors, maintaining inventory of janitorial supplies, and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Perform daily custodial and cleaning tasks throughout the building
+ Maintain and stock inventory of janitorial and maintenance supplies
+ Escort vendors providing services within the facility
+ Provide basic maintenance services and security controls to safeguard equipment and facility integrity
+ Clean and reset conference rooms after meetings
+ Collect and dispose of trash and recycling throughout the building daily
+ Clean and sanitize restrooms daily
+ Perform minor maintenance tasks
+ Report hazards, damage, or necessary repairs
+ Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.
Minimum Qualifications

+ Knowledge of different types of flooring/floor covering sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials, agents and equipment.
+ Ability to keep inventory records.
+ Ability to work independently and perform assigned tasks with limited direction.
+ Ability to perform repetitive motions with vacuum cleaners, wet and dry mops, stocking supplies, and other equipment and tools on a regular basis.
+ Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions as well as safety procedures
+ Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with a wide range of backgrounds, who do not share you same culture, ethnicity, language, or other common experiences.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Previous custodial and/or janitorial experience
+ Ability to work above the ground level such as on ladders.
+ Ability to work overhead on a variety of tasks (such as light dusting and cleaning).
Physical Requirements
Requires occasionally lifting items such as 50-pound boxes and frequently lifting and/or carrying objects such as tools and file boxes. This job requires repetitive motion such as vacuuming, mopping, shoveling, and dusting.
Additional Requirements
The Minnesota State Lottery will conduct a criminal background check and fingerprint check at the time of job offer for all prospective new employees.
