Paving the way for these amazing projects is our Technology capability, dedicated to transforming the digital marketing landscape. The Technology capability collaborates with other capabilities within Digitas such as Strategy, Creative, Data Science and Media, as well as client business and technology representatives, to bring cutting edge digital products and campaigns to life. We also have strategic partnerships with many of the world’s leading marketing and advertising technology vendors that helps us leverage the best platforms and tools for our clients.
To help with this, we’re looking for an outstanding VP/Group Director, Technology – someone who can join new or existing client businesses and direct multiple projects forward as the Technology Lead responsible for delivery and growth. Sound like you? Read on.
What you’ll do:
The Technology capability has a wide variety of focus areas, from mixed reality to e-commerce to data engineering, and seasoned technology leadership is essential to support these complex digital projects being defined, designed and developed by Digitas and other Publicis agencies.
As a VP/Group Director, Technology, you’ll oversee project and client teams to deliver innovative technical solutions that move our clients’ business forward. You’ll provide the technical strategy and design of highly dynamic, data-driven experiences, drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies—including AI, cloud, and the latest in MarTech and AdTech while being responsible for the successful delivery of the experiences.
Day-to-day, your role includes:
+ Directing all aspects of technical strategy, discovery, definition and delivery on multiple clients’ projects that includes:
+ Building client relationships and trust, and act as extension to their team
+ Providing technology strategy recommendations, points of view, insights and best practices to senior level clients (SVPs and CMOs) around all areas of technology
+ Oversee the creation of technology roadmaps based on findings within technology assessments
+ Ensuring any necessary Governance or Compliance regulations are considered and followed
+ Directing teams of technologists including; Digital Product Managers, Architects/Engineers, and QA Analysts – both onshore and offshore – in delivering the high-quality technology solutions to our clients through the SDLC process
+ Partnering with all capabilities in order to provide technical expertise and leadership
+ Partnering with Project Management, specifically in scope definition, process definition, prioritization of requirements, identifying project tasks, time estimates, assumptions, risks and dependencies
+ Working alongside Technical Architects to guide the design and architecture of large-scale, enterprise-grade solutions, integrating MarTech orchestration platforms, first- and third-party Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), and Paid Media/Advertising technologies.
+ Partnering with Staffing and Recruiting, specifically to secure technology resources and/or lead hiring efforts (if required) based on project needs
+ Lead a specialized practice to strengthen and grow our capability experience and delivery on the given focus area
+ Manage vendor relationships while continuing to keep up with new vendors to engage
+ Partner very closely with capability leadership on growth and executing against the capabilities vision and strategy
+ Define industry best practices for the capability as well as staying current on emerging digital technologies and trends.
+ Managing other technologists on the project and/or direct reports, at various levels, through proactive mentoring and providing timely constructive feedback.
+ Take an active role in career management for your direct reports by challenging them, identifying areas of opportunity and growth to advance their careers.
Qualifications
We’re looking for strong, impactful work experience, which typically includes:
+ 11+ years of experience leading highly dynamic, data-driven experiences
+ Successful record of accurately scoping budget and resources on complex projects
+ 6+ years of experience as a manager of personnel.
+ 8+ years of experience working for a digital agency or consultancy.
+ Strong history of collaborating with creative teams
+ Agile methodology training and/or experience required.
+ Bachelor or equivalent degree in Business, Design or Technology related discipline required.
+ Deep knowledge of digital technology such as: content management systems (CMS), customer relationship management (CRM) systems, e-commerce, systems integration, website analytics, marketing automation, native apps, social media, programmatic and predictive media.
+ Deep knowledge of website and software development process: discovery, design, build, test/QA, deployment, measurement and optimization.
+ Deep understanding of digital marketing, data privacy, compliance (GDPR, CCPA), and data governance best practices.
+ Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following: large-scale MarTech orchestration, Customer Data Platforms (first- and third-party), Paid Media/Advertising data and technology, and cloud-based architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP).
+ Familiarity with prompt engineering and common generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Github Copilot, Adobe Firefly, etc).
+ A driven approach to learning on the job as well as to completing formal training to develop your skill set.
+ Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to support interaction with a variety of team members at different seniority levels and varying degrees of technical understanding.
+ Outstanding technical documentation skills.
+ Outstanding understanding of business and technical processes and how they support clients’ businesses
+ Experience working with remote teams in different time zones required.
+ Flexibility to travel as needed required.
Bonus Points For:
+ Hands-on experience integrating or managing generative AI and machine learning solutions (e.g., for content generation, personalization, automation, analytics).
+ Experience with Customer Identity solutions, CDPs, DMPs, and modern AdTech stacks.
+ Published thought leadership, conference speaking, or industry awards.

Compensation Range: $168,150 - $257,712 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
