    Hours: 3:00pm-11:00pm ( Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday)

     

    Sign-On Bonus: $3,000

     

    The behavioral health Mental Health Tech assists in patient care throughout the behavioral health unit. Duties include assisting patients with their ADL’s, completing 15 minute checks on patients, assisting with group programming, documentation of care and treatments done and observes patients for safety and condition change and reports to appropriate staff.

    Responsibilities

    + Assists patients with ADL’s according to hospital procedures, reports all abnormal findings and changes in patient condition to Registered Nurse in charge of patient.

    + Completes 15 minute checks to maintain safety of patient and unit.

    + Assists with the check in process including getting initial vital signs and completing admission paperwork.

    + Assists with restocking of rooms and maintain a safe and clean environment. Follows all established infection control policies, and recognizes role in providing safety to the patient.

    + Documents vital signs, weights, activity, intake and outputs, and ADL care given to patient in computer.

    + Assists with the check in process including getting initial vital signs and completing admission paperwork.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    + High School Diploma or Equivalent

    Licenses/Certifications:

    + Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 30 days of hire.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    + Basic computer knowledge

    + Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals.

    + Ability to move and lift patients and use appropriate equipment.

    + Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.

    + Effective interpersonal relationships and communication skills (verbal, non-verbal and written).
