Responsibilities

+ Receive, enter, and process prescription orders under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.

+ Prepare, label, and package medications for dispensing including non-sterile compounding.

+ Maintain accurate patient profiles and prescription records.

+ Deliver medications or supplies to the appropriate team, patient, or department per policy or protocol.

+ Responsible for the proper storage and security of medications, supplies, and equipment in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures and all applicable laws.

+ Greet and assist patients in person, at bedside, and by phone in a professional, courteous manner.

+ Answer routine questions and direct clinical inquiries to the pharmacist.

+ Resolve basic insurance and billing issues to ensure timely fulfillment.

+ Process point-of-sale transactions and handle cash/credit payments.

Qualifications

Education : High school graduate or equivalent.

Licenses/Certifications:

+ IL Cert Pharmacy Tech; IA preferred.

+ National Certification from one of the following:

+ Pharmacy Technician Certification Board

+ National Healthcareer Association

+ Class 1 Driver License (IA, IL or WI)

+ Proof of Auto Insurance

Experience: 1 year pharmacy technician experience.
