    As a Materials Coordinator, you play a vital behind-the-scenes role in patient care by ensuring our clinical teams have the supplies and equipment they need—every day, without interruption. This is an entry-level, hands-on role ideal for someone looking to start a career in healthcare, learn hospital operations, and grow within Novant Health over time.

     

    This position follows a set schedule of 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with every other weekend required. Reliability and consistency are essential, as this role directly supports patient care and clinical operations.

    What You'll Do

    + S erve as a key connection between hospital departments and Supply Chain Operations

    + Stock, organize, and maintain supply levels in Med/Surg and other clinical areas

    + Keep stock rooms and supply areas clean, safe, organized, and audit-ready

    + Monitor product expiration dates and rotate inventory

    + Manage specialty carts, kits, and select medical equipment

    + Support shipping and receiving activities

    + Work closely with clinical and supply chain team members to meet daily supply needs

    + Perform frequent walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting throughout the shift

     

    This is a physical, hands-on role—not administrative. The work can be repetitive at times, but it is essential, fast-paced, and directly supports patient care every day.

     

    What We're Looking For

    Education

    + High School Diploma or GED, required

    + Some college coursework preferred (helpful for future growth and promotion opportunities)

    Experience

    + Experience in a healthcare environment, preferred

    + Inventory, logistics, warehouse, or stockroom experience, preferred

    Required Skills

    + Ability to stand for long periods and perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting (up to 35 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs)

    + Good vision and manual dexterity

    + Comfort working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment

    + Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory management systems

    Preferred Skills

    + Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

    + Experience using pallet jacks, dock boards, or hand trucks
