Costume Stitcher

PeopleReady of Hallandale Beach, FL is seeking experienced Costume Stitchers to support the wardrobe department for Cirque du Soleil from February 19th to April 25th. This role plays a key part in maintaining high-quality costumes for live performances.

Pay Rate:

_The pay rate for this job is $17 - $17 / hour*_

What you'll be doing as a Costume Stitcher:

+ Perform minor to moderately difficult repairs of costumes and costume-related items

+ Be comfortable with both hand and machine sewing projects as well as using a serger

+ Be experienced with repairs on stretch wear

+ Relay any information about costume problems or needed maintenance to wardrobe team

+ Assist the wardrobe team with organizational duties as needed

+ Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Head of Wardrobe

+ Maintain all costumes by doing laundry, ironing and some pre-sets for nightly performances

+ Check the artists dressing spaces for required items

+ Put away costumes, headpieces and shoes in dressing rooms

Available shifts:

Shift timings - 1st Shift (Day), 2nd Shift (Evening), Weekends

Job requirements:

+ A minimum of two years' professional experience working as a stitcher

+ Excellent oral communication skills in English, strong interpersonal skills and a team player mentality

+ Professional demeanor and pride in your work

+ Ability to stand, stretch, bend, reach, and kneel for prolonged periods of time, ability to work under pressure

+ Must be at least 18+ years of age

+ Must be available to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays

+ Ability to work in wet areas and with cleaning solutions

+ Ability to withstand exposure to noise, dust, smoke and other indoor environmental factors

+ Background check required
