    ### Job Duties

    Description:

    Nexus-East Bethel is looking to add a Group Mental Health Therapist to join our new youth & teen psychiatric residential treatment facility!

    • 900 189th Ave NE East Bethel, MN 55011

    Pay/Schedule:

    • Starting Salary for Licensed Individuals: $72,000 - $80,000 offers will reflect level of experience and licensure!

    • Full-time, mostly weekdays: Monday - Friday (10am-6pm, 11am-7pm or 12pm-8pm)

    • Schedule flexibility: Therapists set their own schedules; schedule accounts for all required therapy sessions being met, team meetings, and documentation completion. Work from home one day a week to complete necessary paperwork

    Position Summary:

    Facilitate and manage therapeutic group programming for youth within a trauma-informed framework. The Group Therapist will lead evidence-based group sessions focused on skill-building, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness, while fostering a safe and inclusive environment. Provide clinical feedback on group dynamics and youth progress, collaborate with the treatment team, and engage families through support groups. Contribute to discharge planning by recommending ongoing group or specialized therapy needs.

     

    ### Minimum Education Required

    Primary responsibilities:

    Trauma Informed Care

    • In coordination with the team, creates and drives a trauma-informed environment; establishing and maintaining a positive treatment culture and making necessary changes to ensure success.

    • Participate in the youth treatment planning process with a focus on group therapy goals and objectives.

    • Provide individualized, youth focused, strengths and evidence-based group or specialized therapy models to youth and families. Examples: Art therapy, Music Therapy

    • Document group notes promptly and accurately in the electronic health record in accordance with licensing, accreditation, and agency standards.

    • Attendance and participation in mandatory clinical supervision and team case consultation meetings in accordance with program expectations.

    • Conduct group therapy sessions in the therapeutic milieu as well as specialty therapy sessions one on one with youth in accordance with their treatment plans.

    • Address and mediate conflicts within the group and ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.

    • Provide clinical feedback to the treatment team regarding youth participation, progress, and group dynamics.

    • Collaborate with family support groups to engage and educate families in the treatment process.

    Milieu Coordination

    • Plan, develop, and facilitate therapeutic groups focused on skill-building, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, trauma-informed care, and other clinically relevant topics. Contribute to the development and refinement of group curricula and programming.

    • Adapt group activities and curriculum to meet the developmental and cultural needs of diverse youth populations.

    • Utilize evidence based practices such as CBT, DBT skills, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma informed approaches.

    • Participate in all youth related treatment team meetings, using family centered language and youth driven principals.

    • Serve as a clinical treatment team leader to YCPs. This includes but is not limited to modeling and coaching staff on rapport building with clients, trauma-informed practices, and de-escalation techniques on the treatment milieu as needed.

    • Collaborate with residential staff on behavioral and therapeutic interventions to maintain consistency.

    • Be available on-call for consultation/treatment direction and/or decisions when appropriate.

    • Assess readiness for discharge in conjunction with the treatment team. Provide feedback related to ongoing group or specialized therapy recommendations post discharge.

    Community Care

    • Communicate with the treatment team to include all desired and necessary family members, educational, legal, community, and social service providers (as well as all-natural supports that the youth and family identify) to gather all necessary information to inform and support the treatment process.

    • Ensures that all required client reports, records, and all documentation are produced accurately and maintained in a consistent, timely, and professional manner according to policy and regulated statutes.

    • Educate and facilitate trainings for staff on trauma informed practices, clinical diagnosis treatment processes, and other clinically relevant training material.

    • Participate in team meetings, program clinical team meetings, therapy clinical supervision sessions, and in-service as required.

    • Ensure confidentiality regarding mental health, medical issues, background treatment and comply with all HIPAA related requirements.

    • Remains current on all company policies, assigned trainings and/or certification requirements.

    • All other tasks and duties as assigned.

     

    ### Minimum Experience Required

    Required Education and Licensure:

    • Master’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences, human services, social work, marriage & family therapy, psychology, counseling, or clinically related fields

    • Must be on track to complete licensure for a specific, related discipline

    • And/or currently holds a provisional/intermediary license for a specific track (i.e. LGSW, LMSW, LAMFT or LPC)

    • Valid driver’s license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Nexus Home Office driving requirements

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    • Fully licensed in appropriate state as an LCSW, LICSW, LP, LMFT, LPCC, or LCPC, LCSW-C

    • Related residential or human services experience working with youth and families

    • Specialty therapy certification or licensure such as Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Play Therapy, Drama Therapy or Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor
