Posting Description
LICENSED INDEPENDENT CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER (LICSW), MIT Health, provides individual and group counseling to undergraduate and graduate MIT Health patients within a team model. The LICSW will assess patient mental health status through interview and synthesize this clinical information to formulate mental health status, diagnosis, development of plan of care and treatment, implementation of treatment plan, and evaluation of follow up strategies according to age-specific plans of care. Experience treating eating disorders is desirable although not necessary. Said work is done in accordance with MIT Health Policies as well as State and Federal rules, regulations, and standard of care. The LICSW also provides health education and clinical outreach to the MIT community in collaboration with other individuals or services at MIT Health as well as across the campus community. Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Master’s degree from Social Work from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education; a minimum of two years post Master’s degree social work experience; Licensure at the Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) level in Massachusetts; comprehensive clinical experience with particular emphasis on the provision of evidence-based treatment of group treatment (such as DBT), acute care and crisis intervention; demonstrated skill and knowledge of the field of skills-based group treatment (current research, best practices, standards, professional organizations, etc.), particularly in college-aged and campus populations; and extensive skills evaluating complex cases, triaging patients, addressing crises in the campus community, and working collaboratively on a team.
