    • This job is a member of the IOC Administration Team within the Integrated Operations Division.

    • Responsible for managing schedules for the operational teams within the IOC including Dispatch, Crew Scheduling, and Central Load Planning, administering schedule bids, vacation bids, and managing daily needs for open time coverage.

    What you'll do

    • Leads team of Scheduling Analysts responsible for administering and maintaining schedules for operational IOC teams including Crew Scheduling and Dispatch

    • Leads team of 24/7 Coordinators dedicated to administering open time coverage and overtime callouts for operational IOC teams including Dispatch and Central Load Planning

    • Manages schedule for Coordinator team to ensure team members are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for daily schedule management

    • Works closely with Payroll, HR, and Training departments to ensure appropriate management of workforce, onboarding/offboarding, leaves of absence, pay, etc.

    • Ensures the correct and uniform application of all company, department, and union policies regarding vacation, sick time, FMLA, etc.

    • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives (process, policy, technology) that elevate service quality, cost efficiency, and employee experience

    • Coordinates with frontline IOC Leadership, Workforce Planning, Finance and Analytics to determine appropriate staffing levels, solve problems, drive improvements, and achieve departmental goals

    • Ensures systems are in place to reduce coverage shortages and anticipates coverage needs due to training/department changes

    • Manages the yearly schedule and vacation bidding processes for all Dispatch and Crew Scheduling departments, building bid lines and administering bids

    • Works with product team, IT and Vendor to drive scheduling software (Ascent) system changes and enhancements

    • Supervises, leads, and guides team of analysts and coordinators; manages ongoing and annual talent conversations, development, performance management, coaching and counseling, and recruiting

     

    All you'll need for success

    Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience/training

    • 5+ years of relevant work experience

    • Experience working with unionized and technical workgroups

    • Previous leadership experience

    Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

    • Strong organization, analytical and interpersonal skills

    • Previous experience working with bid lines, work schedules, and vacation management

    • Demonstrated ability to lead based on the American Airlines leadership model

    Skills, Licenses & Certifications

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

    • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines, and work well under pressure

    • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management both verbally and written

    • Ability to learn computer systems and applications and apply knowledge

    • Ability to be flexible and capable of adapting to constant change

    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage employee schedules

    • Strong managerial and interpersonal skills
