The Health and Safety Specialist is responsible for continually improving the Company’s Environmental, Health, Safety, and Department of Transportation compliance performance. The Health and Safety Specialist assists with the planning, establishment, implementation, and maintenance for a variety of occupational health, safety, environmental, and fleet safety programs.

Essential Job Functions
+ Assist in implementing programs, policies, and procedures that promote environmental, health and safety (EHS) standards in the workplace.
+ Collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information, routinely or ad hoc, with detail and accuracy.
+ Routinely follow up on key performance indicators that measure both the lead and lag measures defined within the Company’s EHS program.
+ Assist with execution of the Company’s EHS audit program, which includes performing audits and inspections.
+ Influence and work jointly with various corporate and field stakeholders to implement safety-related education, accountability, coaching, and support.
+ Review incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans for accuracy and effectiveness to prevent reoccurrence and reduce frequency of safety incidents

Education and/or Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree preferred.
+ Experience in fleet safety or other EHS positions preferred.
+ An Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Health and Safety Official (CSHO), or NTSI certification or industry recognized Fleet Safety Management certification(s) preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities Required
+ General knowledge and understanding of EHS regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT, and state-specific requirements.
+ Ability to professionally communicate and partner with leadership.
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
+ Strong analytical skills and attention to details.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and risk management software such as Origami, Geotab, or similar systems.
+ Willingness to travel 10-15%.
