What We Want
We are seeking a skilled Photographer with a strong aesthetic eye and deep technical understanding of lighting, posing, and composition across events, candids, and portrait work. This photography role at Mays Business School offers a dynamic blend of creativity, technical mastery, and purpose. You’ll produce high‑quality imagery for a wide range of creative, editorial, and marketing needs while maintaining the equipment and archival systems that keep our visual library running smoothly. Your work will become a cornerstone of the school’s marketing and communications efforts, capturing compelling moments and elevating the brand across every channel. Essential Duties/Tasks
Manages media assets
+ Manages the processing and use of images. Discusses technical problems, checks for quality, and deals with client concerns.
+ Maintains photography archives, retrieves photos upon request, and maintains the portfolio archival system.
+ Produces high quality photographs of people and events in several different venues, including on and off campus locations for editorial publications, reports, advertising, events, and for public relations and news stories.
+ Sets up and operates cameras, lighting, and related equipment for field and studio production.
+ Creates and edits images using the appropriate technical methods and software.
+ Communicates with, encourages, and directs photographic subjects, putting them at ease.
+ Photo deliverables will include but are not limited to:
+ Portrait photography of students, faculty, and staff
+ Stock/candid photography capturing student life, used for a variety of purposes
+ Student storytelling photography for social media channels
+ Event photography
+ Building/environment photography
+ Editorial photography for two yearly magazine publications
Works with the creative teams
+ Works with the creative teams to research, develop, implement, and evaluate creative marketing campaigns, strategy development, and implementation of visual assets.
+ Manages business aspects of the work, including administration, scheduling, and project management of shoots.
Assists with video projects

Student Worker Supervision
+ Manages business aspects of the work, including administration, scheduling, and project management of shoots.
What You Need to Know
Salary: $55,000 - $65,000/annually

Other Requirements and Factors:
+ May require work outside of standard work hours, including evenings and weekends.
+ Must be able to move or lift heavy cameras and lighting gear.
+ Please note this position is located on-site in College Station, TX.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
+ Bachelor's degree.
+ 2 years of experience providing professional photography services.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Video production experience.
+ 3+ years professional experience providing professional photography services.
+ Experience working within project management software (ClickUp, Monday, MS Project, Teamwork, Trello, etc.).
+ Experience working within the confines of a brand guide.
+ Experience working for a higher education institution.
+ Must be able to travel in and out of College Station.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Expert proficiency with professional photography equipment, lighting, and editing software.
+ Knowledge of developing and executing concept photography for marketing and communications.
+ High visual standard to capture exceptional photography visuals.
+ Understanding of technical components that produce a quality photo, including environment, lighting, positioning, color, etc.
+ Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with clients, and external stakeholders.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills to ensure clarity and understanding with clients and subjects.
+ Strong organizational skills.
+ Ability to balance multiple competing deadlines and make efficient use of time and human resources.
+ High attention to detail, anticipating needs and improvements to result in error-free, excellent visual assets.
+ Ability to work as a motivated self-starter who positively contributes to the culture and social dynamics of the marketing & communications team.
+ Diverse photography portfolio including editorial, portrait, and event photography.
