    Job Description

    HoneyBaked Ham is looking for an experienced Processing Manager for our Holland Facility! This position will manage a team to ensure that HoneyBaked manufacturing meets the excellent quality standards. The #HamFam is looking for someone that is dynamic in the role, can analyze and improve on current process efficiency, and can implement those changes with a large team.

    SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

    Manages all activities directly associated with the processing of HoneyBaked Catalog products (hams and turkey breasts) to assure clients the safest and highest quality products and services. Manages food safety applications as it applies to the processing area (HACCP,GMP, SSOP).

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    + Monitors, controls and assists staff in all first & second shift protein processing procedures including, but not limited to, slicing, glazing, wrapping, weighing, storage and inventory. Directs quality control, food safety and training activities in the above areas.

    + Effectively manages assigned staff to ensure adequate staffing related to services and established productivity levels provided, to select, train and develop staff that can provide services based on changing business needs of the organization.

    + Suggests and explores new or used equipment to increase efficiency and/or profits.

    + Set production objectives and implement action plans for achieving set targets and conduct forecasts to identify potential risks and contingencies

    + Acts as a warehouse management system point of contact for questions and initial training objectives.

    + Coordinates planning and purchasing of internally procured processing supplies. Participates in the planning of processing for production related capital requirements.

    + Process flow and productivity improvements to increase facility output and drive cost efficiency gains

    + Performs projects as assigned by Plant Operations Manager.

    + Performs other duties as required by business and departmental requirements.

    EXPERIENCE

    + 2 years supervisory experience in addition to Bachelor’s degree OR

    + 5 years supervisory experience in a large production/assembly line/fast speed shipping operation.

    + 1-2 years of warehouse management systems

    + General working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.

    EDUCATION

    + Bachelor’s degree in management preferred.

    REQUIRED LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

    + General mechanical background or understanding of machine operation.

    + Excellent analytical problem solving skills.

    + Excellent supervisory/communication skills.

    + Working knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP, and sanitation S.O.P. requirements.

    + Knowledge of quality processes.

    SAFETY HAZARDS/WORKING CONDITIONS OF THE JOB

    + Wet floors due to sanitation issues can cause slips and falls.

    + Slicing machines, glazing conveyor, VP conveyer, knives, and electric saws can cause cut, gash and contusion injuries.

    + Electrical devices can cause shock injuries.
