    As a Pharmacy Clinical Specialist for Lymphoma and Myeloma, a caregiver in this role will support oncology patients across both inpatient and outpatient settings. The lymphoma and multiple myeloma clinical specialist will rotate through three practice areas, including the inpatient lymphoma and myeloma service (LMS), the outpatient lymphoma clinic, and the outpatient myeloma clinic. While inpatient, the clinical pharmacist participates in daily interdisciplinary rounds, leads chemotherapy-related decision-making and Beacon order verification, manages discharge and consult services, and collaborates closely with inpatient, outpatient, and specialty pharmacy teams to ensure safe and seamless transitions of care. While outpatient the clinical pharmacist partners with providers in clinic to perform proactive chart review, prepare and validate complex chemotherapy regimens, coordinate planned admissions, provide patient education and drug information support, and participate in pharmacist consult services to optimize therapy across the continuum of care. This role is supported by a large, collaborative oncology pharmacy team and offers opportunities to precept learners and conduct and lead research while contributing to a growing, world class oncology program.

     

    A caregiver in this position works Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

    A caregiver who excels in this role will:

    + Coordinate and provide pharmaceutical care for patients.

    + Participate in patient care rounds.

    + Perform pharmacotherapeutic monitoring and provision of pharmaceutical care for patients.

    + Provide general and patient-specific drug information.

    + Educate clinical pharmacists, technicians, pharmacy students, post-graduate trainees, allied health professionals, nurses and physicians in pharmacotherapy.

    Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy

    + If hired for a specialty area where specialty residency training is available, then specialty residency is required

    + Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) OR eligible for reciprocation in the current state within 90 days of hire

    + Completion of a post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or fellowship OR completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY-1) and two years of experience as a clinical specialist or an equivalent role providing pharmaceutical care and performing pharmaceutical monitoring OR four years of experience as a clinical specialist or an equivalent role providing pharmaceutical care and performing pharmacotherapeutic monitoring

    + For individuals required to administer immunizations: current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days of hire

    + For individuals required to respond to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest events: current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross or certification obtained within 1 year of hire

    Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + Board Certification

    **Physical Requirements** :

    + Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time.

    + Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

    + Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.

    + Must have normal or corrected vision.

    + Must have ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person

    **Personal Protective Equipment** :

    + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required

     

    Pay Range

     

    Minimum Annual Salary: $101,900.00

     

    Maximum Annual Salary: $155,390.00

     

    The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
