We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented School Bus Dispatcher to join our Hempstead team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school, field trips, and special activities. This position requires strong communication skills, quick problem-solving abilities, and a dedication to student safety.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Daily Scheduling: Develop and manage efficient bus routes and schedules, ensuring on-time student pick-up and drop-off.

+ Driver Coordination: Serve as the primary contact for bus drivers, communicating route updates and navigating traffic or weather-related issues.

+ Emergency Response: Handle transportation emergencies such as accidents or delays, dispatching assistance promptly and informing relevant stakeholders.

+ Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with drivers, school officials, and parents to address any concerns or changes.

+ Fleet Monitoring: Use GPS and dispatch software to track bus locations, ensuring adherence to routes and schedules.

+ Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all transportation operations comply with relevant student transportation regulations.

+ Record Keeping: Accurately document routes, driver assignments, and any incidents for reporting and analysis.

+ Continuous Improvement: Work with transportation managers to enhance routing efficiency and safety procedures.

Qualifications:

+ Proven experience in dispatching or a related field is preferred.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and dispatch software.

+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

+ Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
