External Summary: The Live Action team of our AI Studio is seeking a Principal, Creative Executive. We are seeking a technology-forward creative and production leader responsible for defining and advancing the production standard of GenAI live-action projects. This individual combines world-class traditional production expertise with cutting-edge GenAI artistry to set the benchmark for final pixel delivery with cinematic results.

AI Studios is a newly established org that leads the global strategy and execution for integrating AI across the creative and production lifecycle at Amazon MGM Studios. Our goal is to advance how stories are developed, produced, and experienced by using new technology as a tool, with human creativity and control at the center, empowering creators.

Key job responsibilities

* Pioneering Execution: Define, oversee, and personally execute the most complex end-to-end creative production challenges, setting the standard for translating creative vision into tangible assets using Generative AI tools (e.g., video, image, 3D) for live-action projects.

* Workflow Development: Act as the architect for AI-driven filmmaking workflows, defining long-term strategy for optimization, tool integration, and technical standardization across the division.

* Aesthetic & Quality Control: Reinforce the division's creative mandate and quality bar, ensuring the highest standards of visual continuity, fidelity, and cinematic quality are met in all AI-generated content.

* Technical Proficiency: Serve as one of the division's top subject matter experts and technical authorities; drive the strategy for pipeline resilience and security.

* Creative R&D: Direct the R&D roadmap for new generative models and techniques, prioritizing technical investments that expand the creative and production capabilities of the studio.

* Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Executive Producers, Directors, and Supervisors to ensure the highest-value integration of AI assets, and actively mentor all levels of Creative Executives.

Basic Qualifications

- 9+ years of creative executive experience

- Experience working with other departments such as casting, production, research, PR, business and legal affairs

- Experience overseeing all creative aspects of development production and post production

- * Production Experience: 15+ years of extensive, high-impact experience and a strong reputation for excellence in film/TV production, digital effects, or art direction.

- * Hybrid Execution: Demonstrated ability to define and lead the creative and technical approach for complex visual work, leveraging mastery of both traditional artistic judgment and generative AI tools.

- * Software Fluency: Comprehensive, expert-level mastery of all relevant industry-standard creative software and full command of current, emerging GenAI platforms.

- * Visual Mastery: Recognized exceptional aesthetic judgment, composition, and visual storytelling skills, demonstrated through a world-class portfolio of executed projects.

- * Pipeline Agility: Proven ability to rapidly troubleshoot, optimize, and strategically design complex technical and creative pipelines for large-scale, enterprise-level production.

Preferred Qualifications

- Specialized Mastery: Recognized expertise in defining and developing specialized GenAI techniques, including driving the creation of custom models or solving complex, high-priority temporal continuity issues across entire sequences.

- Workflow Automation: Demonstrated ability to architect and deploy scalable workflow automation solutions across a multi-team or departmental technical pipeline.

- Ethical Acumen: Established expertise in shaping policy and providing strategic guidance on data governance, intellectual property (IP) issues, and ethical guidelines for generative media at an organizational level.

- Leadership/Guidance: Significant experience in a leadership capacity, successfully training and scaling creative teams on the strategic integration of new technologies.

- R&D Mindset: A proven track record of defining the R&D roadmap and successfully piloting new, production-defining methodologies that establish industry best practices.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $165,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $273,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
