As part of the AI and Agents initiative, you’ll join a cross-functional group of engineers, applied scientists, and TPMs building intelligent systems that power how 1M+ Amazonians learn through automation, personalization, and immersive simulation.
Key job responsibilities
- Architect and build large-scale distributed systems enabling end-to-end AI-driven learning workflows (e.g., Content Creation Management [CCM], Personalized Learning Experience [PLE], and AI Learning Coach frameworks).
- Lead design and delivery of production-grade services and APIs powering automation, content intelligence, multilingual translation, and workflow assistants across Amazon Operations.
- Implement and optimize AI integrations, leveraging AWS AI services (SageMaker, Bedrock, Comprehend, Translate) and custom LLM pipelines for content generation, validation, and personalization.
- Mentor and guide engineers in best practices for system design, code quality, and operational excellence; raise the engineering bar across the team.
- Drive cross-functional alignment with TPMs, Scientists, and Product Leads to translate business strategy into scalable technical solutions that deliver measurable impact.
- Ensure reliability and observability, implementing automation, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines using CloudFormation, and CodePipeline.
- Contribute to long-term architecture vision, influencing build-vs-buy decisions, security posture, and cost optimization strategies for global learning platforms.

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
