- Amazon (Seattle, WA)

Description
The Regulatory Intelligence Safety and Compliance (RISC) team is on a mission to protect customers from unsafe or non-compliant products while enabling trustworthy shopping experiences at Amazon. We are seeking an exceptional Senior Manager, Technical Program Management to lead our strategic initiatives that combine advanced AI/ML automation with rigorous risk management to transform how Amazon executes recalls and manages inventory safety at global scale.
In this role, you will lead a portfolio of high-impact programs that directly protect millions of customers worldwide. You will drive development and execution of Amazon's plan to reduce customer exposure to recalled products, automate end-to-end recall processing, and establish global recall execution frameworks. You will define and influence the design of processes and products to keep customers safe while also improving the experience of Amazon's Selling Partners as we efficiently manage recalls and associated inventory. This is an opportunity to make a measurable impact on customer safety while working at the intersection of technical innovation, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
If you are passionate about customer safety, thrive in ambiguous environments, and want to lead programs that matter, we want to hear from you.
Key job responsibilities
Program Leadership & Execution
* Lead and mentor a team of Risk Managers and Technical Program Managers supporting recalls execution, inventory management and related automation initiatives globally
* Own or collaborate closely with software and science teams on the end-to-end delivery of critical initiatives including global recall framework implementation, ‘zero-touch’ automation for recalls, comprehensive safety controls across delivery networks, and inventory management optimization
* Drive the reduction of Customer Order Escape Rate (COER) - that is, leakage of any recalled product, through systematic program execution and cross-functional coordination
* Establish and optimize mechanisms for managing complex, cross-functional programs spanning engineering, science, operations, legal, regulatory affairs, and seller support teams
Strategic Planning & Stakeholder Management
* Partner with engineering, product, operations, legal, and regulatory teams to define program strategies and roadmaps that balance customer safety, business needs, and regulatory compliance
* Serve as primary point of contact for executive-level communications, including leadership reviews, deep dives, and strategic planning sessions
* Lead roadmap prioritization processes across the RISC portfolio, making critical trade-offs between business opportunities, resources, and sustainability
* Represent and defend complex program decisions to senior leadership, clearly articulating risks, trade-offs, and customer impact
Risk Management & Compliance
* Identify and mitigate risks across the recalls and inventory management portfolio, establishing cross-organizational risk tolerance and mitigation strategies
* Drive compliance with global regulatory requirements issued by entities such as US CPSC, EU GPSR, and Saudi PSL through automated reporting and standardized execution protocols
* Partner with legal and regulatory teams to anticipate emerging legislation and assess impact on program roadmaps and organizational strategy
* Establish mechanisms to prevent, detect, and remediate safety issues before they impact customers
Innovation & Process Improvement
* Drive AI/ML-first approach to automate end-to-end recall processing, targeting zero manual touches for 10 public recalls by EOY 2026
* Create scalable, long-term mechanisms that reduce operational bottlenecks, and enhance customer experience
* Lead initiatives to reduce stranded inventory and reduce the time required to clear recalled selection from the network such that remediated product can be reinstated
* Identify opportunities to innovate, simplify, reduce waste, and increase efficiency across all program areas
