LOCATION OF POSITION: Fairport NY 14450;Business Office
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12-Month Position, Full-Time
STARTING DATE: March 1, 2026
SALARY RANGE: $90,000-115,000 per year
*Actual Salary Is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.
DUTIES:
1. Maintain the district accounting records including general ledgers and journals, making adjustments and entries.
2. Writes and signs all checks for disbursement of District monies upon receipt of a signed warrant, certified payroll, or as otherwise authorized.
3. Oversee accounting records and financial systems and coordinates preparation and review of financial statements, reports and schedules.
4. Responsible for management of BOCES financial systems and coordinates preparation and review of financial statements, reports and schedules.
5. Analizes cash flow, studies the market, and invest funds accordingly.
6. Supervise accounting activities including billing, banking and grants.
7. Maintain acconting software,expenditure and budgetary control accounts and prepare reports relating to the statue of such accounts.
8. Prepare and provide monthly reports to Board of Education.
9. Utilize computer-based programs on personal computer to perform duties.
10. Prepare State Aid submissions and other required reports.
11. Responsible for oversight of financial software system.
12. Assists in budget development process with an emphasis on the revenue side.
13. Facilitate year end closing and external audit.
14. Perform other related activites, including other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting; Finance or Business Administration or Lesser degree with 18 credits of Finance or Accounting and years of experience.
2. Good knowledge of principles, procedures and terminology of both general and governmental accounting.
3. Strong accounting skills; ability to deal with people at all organizational levels; strong computer skills; independent, self-starter; and good administrative, analytical,
organizational, planning, problems solving and oral and written communication skills.
4. Ability to prepare and analize financial and statistical records, reports and statements.
5. Computer experience is necessary. Database-driven software applications, financial Software, Excel Spreadsheets, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office products are all
applications used in the posistion.
6. Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships; resourceful in solving finance/accounting problems; accuracy; and integrity commensurate with the demands of the position.
