Responsibilities Expert IT Specialist in policy, planning, security, systems analysis, applications software, operating systems, network services, data management, systems administration, and customer support. Performs the full range of activities relating to IT project management to include in-garrison support, trip site support, and continuity of operations locations. Performs strategic planning; capital planning and investment control; resource management; architecture and infrastructure planning and management; technology insertion/modernization. Serves as an expert technology advisor to the Director of the Executive Technologies Directorate and Information Systems Division on technology implementation and architecture, policy development, and IT project management. Performs work involving the planning, installation, configuration, testing, implementation, and management of the Presidential IT Community networks and services. Basic Requirements: Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating the following competencies appropriate to, or above, the level of this position. Attention to Detail - experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been responsible for reviewing the work of others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards Customer Service - developing and maintaining relationships with customers, anticipating and assessing the current and future information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products or services that are tailored to meet customer needs Oral Communication - briefing senior-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of complex technical information to a non-technical audience Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address unique, highly complex, or sensitive information technology-related issues. I have anticipated information technology-related problems and have identified and evaluated potential sources of information to generate alternative solutions. Qualifying Experience: In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must possess qualifying experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level (GG-13) in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience performing advanced technical OR administrative functions supporting enterprise-level telecommunications OR IT systems, such as applications software, operating systems, network services, OR contractor provided technical work. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
