    Earthwork CAD Technician

    About the Role

    We are seeking a highly skilledEarthwork CAD Technicianwith strong experience inearthwork takeoffs and digital modelingusingTrimble Business Center (TBC). This role supports our Pre-Construction team by producing accurate quantities, constructible models, and data.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Perform detailedearthwork takeoffsand quantity calculations for heavy civil projects.

    + Develop and maintain3D modelsinTrimble Business Center, ensuring accuracy and constructability.

    + Interpret civil plans, surveys, specifications, and geotechnical reports to support estimating activities.

    + Prepare cost estimates and budgets for materials, equipment, labor, and subcontractor scopes.

    + Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to validate assumptions and ensure alignment on project approach.

    + Assist in data management, file organization, and model handoff to operations.

    + Maintain current knowledge of TBC tools, construction technology, and industry best practices.

    Qualifications

    + 2+ yearsof experience in heavy civil construction estimating, earthwork takeoffs, or related pre-construction roles.

    + Proficiency in Trimble Business Center(Corridor modeling, surface creation, takeoff tools, etc.).

    + Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, survey data, and digital terrain models (DTMs).

    + Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

    + Effective communication and teamwork skills.

    + Ability to create constructible 3D models that reflect realistic means and methods.

    + Proficiency with estimation software (HCSS or similar) preferred.

    + Field experience in heavy civil construction is a plus.

    + Drone mapping or GPS machine control experience a bonus.
