Description We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper/Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. In this role, you will handle a variety of accounts payable and bookkeeping tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial processes. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the operations of a non-profit organization while utilizing your expertise in accounting systems and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable batches, handling a volume of 50-100 invoices weekly.

• Verify invoices against purchase orders when exceeding specified dollar amounts.

• Enter direct payments into the accounting system accurately and promptly.

• Post journal entries from spreadsheets into the Great Plains accounting software.

• Prepare and issue checks once payment vouchers have been approved.

• Ensure proper account coding and invoice classification to maintain financial accuracy.

• Manage ACH transactions and oversee automated payment processes.

• Collaborate with team members to resolve discrepancies and improve workflows.

• Maintain organized records and documentation for audits and reporting purposes. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable and bookkeeping roles.

• Strong knowledge of account coding and invoice processing.

• Proficiency in handling ACH transactions and check runs.

• Familiarity with Great Plains Accounting software.

• Ability to manage high-volume invoice processing efficiently.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
