Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our client's team on a long-term contract basis. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in manufacturing and defense industry accounting. You will lead essential financial operations, oversee reporting processes, and manage a dedicated accounting team to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Manage financial reporting processes, including SEC reporting and adherence to ASC 606 standards.

• Lead and mentor the accounting team to achieve departmental goals and optimize performance.

• Coordinate audits and ensure all financial practices align with government contract requirements.

• Monitor and maintain compliance with defense industry standards and regulations.

• Supervise monthly close procedures and resolve discrepancies effectively.

• Collaborate with management to provide strategic financial insights and support business decisions.

• Ensure accurate accounting for manufacturing operations and maintain internal controls.

• Address complex financial issues related to government contracts and defense industry requirements.

• Develop and implement processes for continuous improvement in financial reporting and management.

Requirements

• Proven experience in the defense or manufacturing industry with a focus on government contracts.

• Strong knowledge of SEC reporting standards and ASC 606 compliance.

• Expertise in monthly close processes and financial statement preparation.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage an accounting team effectively.

• Familiarity with financial practices related to defense and government contracts.

• Advanced analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate across departments.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
