Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and compassionate individual to join our team in Allegan, Michigan for a Patient Registration position. In this contract role, you will play a vital part in ensuring smooth patient intake processes within a healthcare setting. The position involves direct interaction with patients and families, assisting with registration, insurance verification, and financial processes.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately register patients for emergency, inpatient, and outpatient services in the hospital's system.

• Input and maintain patient demographic and financial data with precision.

• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility to facilitate seamless patient care.

• Collect co-payments and other financial contributions from patients.

• Conduct interviews with patients or their families to gather necessary registration information.

• Prepare and process admission forms and other essential documentation.

• Provide clerical and administrative support to assist in daily operations.

• Escort patients to various hospital areas when needed.

• Track bed availability and assist with patient transfers or discharges.

• Handle medical record requests in compliance with organizational guidelines. Requirements • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately.

• Proficiency in data entry with attention to accuracy and efficiency.

• Basic knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

• Familiarity with insurance verification processes and eligibility requirements.

• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.

• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare staff.

• Basic math skills for handling patient payments and financial transactions.
