Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will utilize your expertise to handle tax preparation and filing for both individuals and businesses. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations and collaborate with the current accounting staff.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file individual and corporate tax returns accurately and efficiently.

• Review and manage sales and use tax filings, ensuring compliance with regulations.

• Collaborate with the accounting team to support general bookkeeping tasks.

• Assist with tax planning strategies to optimize financial outcomes for clients.

• Analyze financial records to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective measures.

• Ensure all tax documents are organized and submitted in accordance with deadlines.

• Provide guidance on tax-related matters to clients and internal teams.

• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to maintain compliance.

• Utilize tax preparation software to streamline the filing process. Requirements • Proven experience in preparing individual and corporate tax returns.

• Strong knowledge of sales and use tax regulations.

• Proficiency in tax preparation software, such as Lacerte.

• Solid understanding of general bookkeeping principles.

• Ability to analyze financial data and identify inconsistencies.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Strong communication skills for client and team collaboration.

• Up-to-date knowledge of current tax laws and regulations.
