The Role

We’re seeking an experienced Controller to serve as the CFO’s trusted partner and lead the finance function. You’ll oversee fund accounting, reporting, and compliance while driving process improvements and system enhancements. This role blends hands-on accounting with strategic oversight and offers significant exposure to partners, investors, and portfolio companies.

Key Responsibilities

+ Review fund financials, capital calls, distributions, and investor statements

+ Oversee partner capital allocations, carry calculations, and fund expenses

+ Coordinate audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance

+ Manage management company and GP accounting

+ Strengthen internal controls and implement system improvements

+ Support fundraising, investor reporting, and ad-hoc financial projects

Requirements

Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

+ 8+ years of progressive accounting experience (VC, PE, or fund admin)

+ Deep understanding of fund structures, partnership accounting, and waterfalls

+ Experience with audits, tax, and third-party administrators

+ Proficiency in Google Workspace, Excel; QuickBooks Online or Carta a plus

+ Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a lean, fast-paced environment
