Description
We are looking for an experienced Functional Business Analyst (accounting or finance background preferred) to join our client on a long-term contract basis in Seattle, Washington. This role will play a pivotal part in supporting a major system implementation, focusing on job costing and collaborating closely with corporate accounting, finance, and field teams. The successful candidate will ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis while aligning upstream data feeds and system requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze business requirements for the job cost workstream.
• Ensure upstream data feeds are aligned to support accurate financial reporting and margin analysis.
• Document requirements, create testing plans, and oversee system implementation processes.
• Evaluate and map current processes to future state designs, challenging outdated practices when necessary.
• Develop detailed executive reporting and production analytics to improve consistency across geographies.
• Facilitate data migration from legacy systems to new platforms, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Provide clear communication and guidance to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Travel occasionally for system testing and validation at designated sites.
• Support the project management team by driving progress and resolving roadblocks.
Requirements
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst with expertise in system implementations and job costing.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, and margin analysis.
• Proficiency in creating Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and formulating test plans.
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to engage with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience working with billing systems, inventory records, and system improvements.
• Ability to analyze complex data feeds and ensure their integration into job costing systems.
• Background in accounting or finance preferred, with the ability to challenge traditional workflows.
• Willing to work PDT.
• Prior experience in accounting and finance.
