Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Collierville, Tennessee. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Finance Manager to support key financial operations, including month-end activities, budgeting, forecasting, and general accounting tasks. This position requires strong proficiency in Excel, with advanced skills in pivot tables and related functions.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in preparing and reviewing month-end financial statements and reports.
• Perform budget planning and monitoring alongside forecasting activities.
• Handle journal entries and maintain accuracy within the general ledger.
• Ensure compliance with corporate tax regulations, including sales tax and tax return preparation.
• Work with financial systems such as OneStream, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and SAP to manage accounting processes.
• Support the Finance Manager in analyzing financial data and identifying trends.
• Allocate budgets effectively to meet organizational goals.
• Maintain and update records to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Participate in audits and assist in reconciling discrepancies.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial operations. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in corporate tax, sales tax, and tax return preparation.
• Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and advanced functions.
• Familiarity with financial systems such as OneStream, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and SAP.
• Strong understanding of budgeting and forecasting principles.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders.
