    Job Title: R&D Formulation Scientist - CapsulesJob Description

     

    We are seeking a dedicated R&D Formulation Scientist to join our innovative team. You will partner closely with sales and customers to support product requirements and technical needs, develop formulations for various products, and collaborate with sourcing and purchasing teams to ensure material availability and cost efficiency.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop formulations for oils, waters, soft gels, two-piece capsules, powders, and granulations.

    + Collaborate with sourcing and purchasing teams to ensure material availability and cost efficiency.

    + Troubleshoot technical formulation issues and provide expert problem-solving support.

    + Assist with analytical testing and quality assessments.

    + Perform hands-on work in the Product Development laboratory.

    + Utilize analytical instrumentation including GC, HPLC, and ICP-MS.

    + Evaluate laboratory capabilities and identify opportunities for future R&D expansion.

    + Work effectively with a predominantly Spanish-speaking laboratory team; comfort using translation tools is helpful.

    Essential Skills

    + 3+ years of R&D formulation experience.

    + Expertise in powder, liquid, and capsules.

    + Nutraceutical experience.

    + Skilled in HPLC, GC, and ICP.

    + Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bilingual skills are a plus.

    + Experience with raw material quality control.

    + Analytical chemistry expertise, particularly with fish oils.

    Work Environment

    You will report to the Quality Director until a future R&D Director is hired. Currently, only two R&D formulators are on the team until the expansion following an acquisition. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, 100% on site, with a business casual dress code.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Permanent position based out of Clifton, NJ.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00/yr.

     

    401K, holiday, vacation and sick time offered to internal employees. Will have potential to grow into a leadership role - the R&D department is new and there will be room to expand to R&D formulators that report to them.
