Job Title: Chemist OperatorJob Description

The Chemist Operator will be responsible for producing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients using chemical reactors. This role requires following specific Batch Records to ensure the production of a consistent product.

Responsibilities

+ Handle various unit operations, such as reactions, filtration, distillation, drying, and milling, on raw materials and various stages of chemical processing according to written manufacturing procedures and SOPs.

+ Follow and document instructions per batch sheet to produce products in accordance with all cGMP guidelines.

+ Set up equipment, including vessels, tanks, centrifuges, and dryers, for proper processing. Clean and verify equipment and vessels.

+ Record observations of operating conditions.

+ Drive and operate a fork truck.

+ Make work prioritization or timing decisions with supervisory oversight.

+ Adjust utilities to maintain reaction parameters.

+ Maintain process flow through the plant while adhering to all safety, GMP, and environmental regulations and standards.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in Chemical Operation or Batching, 1-5 years preferred.

+ Knowledge of GMP guidelines from food, chemical, or pharmaceutical industries.

+ Understanding of Analytical Chemistry and Chemical Operating.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ High School Diploma with experience, or an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Sciences, preferably in Chemical Technology or Chemistry.

+ Experience in GC and Batching processes.

Work Environment

The work environment is a clean laboratory and production setting. Initial training will be on the first shift for 3-6 months, after which the role will transition to a permanent shift from 6 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., following a 2-2-3 schedule, including working every other weekend. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grafton, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.50/hr.
